B.A.S.S. Federation Nation has made the right changes in bylaws and rules to grow the membership. Regional State Tournament locations are giving all regions some respect by scheduling events on different lakes across the state, not just the locations that have the largest membership. What was once the Chapter Team Championship that required 6 members from each club is now the Team Championship that lets smaller clubs send 1, 2 or 3 teams, allowing clubs to grow and entice the membership to become part of a larger event. On the flip side TBF still requires 6 members to fish these events and turns away the smaller clubs that can’t fill that many teams. After fishing state events on both sides last year the Federation Nation does a better job from the pairing meetings to the weigh ins. These events run smooth as silk.

Taken form the Dec 9th region 4 meeting minutes - “Neal discussed the manner in which teams were solicited for the Fall Classic and the difficulty in doing so. He is looking at the possibility of teams who finish in the top 20 advising him as to whether they are available to fish the Classic. This will keep him from having to try and contact everyone.”

Taken form the Dec 9th region 4 meeting minutes - “It was discussed as to whether we should allow non-TBF anglers to fish our Region 4 points tournaments to try and increase participation and paybacks. Concern was expressed as to this possibly opening the door for outside individuals to come in and cheat. Neal also stated this would cause him a lot of trouble in keeping up on points for Region members. It was stated that Region 10 was interested in fishing our tournaments. Neal had the same concern about keeping up with points and felt that Region 10 members should also be Region 4 members if they wanted to fish. This discussion was tabled for Neal and Charlie to meet with Region 10 officials.”
